Peer-to-Peer Resources & Support

Our members work in all areas of local government finance and willingly share their experience and expertise. We encourage all members to contact each other for support and advice. You can join the electronic forums to receive and send communication with all members, or attend the quarterly front porch forum for small group discussions on current issues, or contact members individually by searching the membership directory – available searches include geographical location, population size, or field of expertise.

As a volunteer organization we rely on members to review new accounting standards, monitor pertinent legislation, remain abreast of technological advances, mentor new entrants to the governmental financial field, and develop educational classes for the membership as a whole. Volunteers cite their work with the MGFOA as an important element in enhancing their career experience.

We welcome you to increase your membership benefits by actively participating in one of our various committees and attending any of the myriad of other MGFOA activities. Please contact the Executive Director for more information.
