The Michigan Government Finance Officers Association is proud to offer an advanced session in the techniques for effective budgeting and forecasting. Attendees should expect to leave with “best practices” which should enhance the overall effectiveness of the entities budget development and management process.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This course will be an advanced session: it is designed for persons who have had previous experience and knowledge of the budget process. Excellent for City Managers, Finance Directors or Budget Analysts who want to learn more about new and effective budget techniques.
CPE CREDITS:
Each seminar qualifies for 8 CPE or 0.8 CEU credits. The CPE credits qualify for governmental accounting and auditing.
Cost Per Person:
The registration fee includes education, refreshments and lunch.

11:00 - 11:50am | Capital Improvement Plan Development Julie Rudd, Director of Finance, City of Royal Oak Identify how to prepare an effective capital plan, including process for identifying needs, determining appropriate service levels, and prioritizing projects. Also covered will be how to communicate effectively with operations staff, determining appropriate funding mechanisms, and linking capital plans with overall organizational goals, master plans, and community priorities. |

Registration Policies:
Class size is sometimes limited. Pre-registration is required so we can notify registrants if unforeseen circumstances require us to cancel or reschedule a course. Please register early.
Confirmations of registrations are sent via email. Registering online will make this process easier. Reservations made by mail, fax, or online, unless cancelled, will be considered a commitment to attend. No shows will be billed, since meeting and meal arrangements have to be made for all registrants.
Cancellation Policies:
Refunds will be made ONLY if MGFOA is notified by October 24, 2019. If you have registered and find that you cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Rates may vary based on membership status. Please notify MGFOA of this occurrence.
